HSBC Names New Head of Investment Banking

HSBC said Friday that it had named Samir Assaf as head of its global banking and markets business, in a second round of senior management appointments ahead of Stuart Gulliver’s taking on the role of chief executive next month.

Mr. Assaf succeeds Mr. Gulliver in the global banking unit, and will report directly to him.
